Wear the Tropics

Even if you can take a quick getaway this winter season wearing the tropics is just as hot. I have some quick and simple tips for andy shape and size to wear the prints with style. Bright patterns in orange go a long way, choose one print at a time. Keep everything else neutral. Try an accessory to start out like shoes, scarves, and handbags. A pencil skirt with a summery floral print looks great on tall women. For work pair with a simple white button down. Side blooms with a panel have a slimming effect Wear dark prints at the bottom for pear shapes Switch out a basic blazer with a palm print over a solid dress Stay away from head to toe unless super model worthy. Tie in another color from

Fringe Benefits

It's swinging around everywhere, fringe. Dangling from handbags, wrapped around ankle straps and swishing on skirts and jewels. Going into Spring it is the detail to look for in when making a trendy purchase. As I styled the Fall 2015 collection for Dore I was excited to see the perfect LBD with long fringe. I also spotted a white leather fringe skirt from BCBG that I absolutely must have. Kisses #dawn #fashion #runway #fringe

Skip the Coffee..Drink This!

While perusing the tea aisle in Whole Foods, I came across Yogi Sweet Tangerine- Positive Energy tea. This tea supports elevated mood and energy levels. Usually, when the afternoon slump hits, I have a cup of coffee (black with no sugar), but I found that this tea works just as well and happens to be a bit better for me with 80 mg of caffeine as compared to 90 mg of caffeine in an eight ounce cup. The aromatic blend of Organic Assam Black and Green Mate along with the floral Lotus Flower and Tangerine flavor this tea def leaves me feeling happy and invigorated! The Tulsi herbs that are infused in this tea are traditionally meant to uplift the spirit and provide energy the natural way. No

Marissa Webb Fall 2015 NYFW

There is always a thrill to sit front row of a designer you love. Ever since Marissa Webb launched her signature collection I have been attending her presentations and runway shows. This season I was snapping aways picture of my favorite pieces. It was hard to pick just a few, since the entire selection was wearable. The blush pink tones obviously were stand out styles for me. Marissa Webb’s designs blend elements of architecture and nature by mixing tailored pieces with whimsical softness and flow. Kisses #dawn #fashion

Oscar Makeup Using Healthy Products!

This past Sunday I enjoyed watching the 87th Academy Awards red carpet and seeing all of the ingenious looks the makeup artists came up with for thier fab clients. Here are some of my faves and products you can use to get the look! Number one fave (OF THE NIGHT) makeup look was from makeup artist Tyron Machhausen. He created, Wolf of Wall Street and Focus actress, Margot Robbie's look using all Hourglass products. I love Hourglass becuase they are a luxury brand free of parabens, fragrance, sulfates, phthalates, gluten, GMO's and is not tested on animals. The brand is great because it proves that products don't need crap ingredients to work well. Robbies look was flawless. To get her fla

Cooking In Heels: Zucchini "Pasta"

I love zucchini. I usually roast it or grill it. I recently bought a spiralizer after seeing a few recipes on youtube for raw zucchini recipes. Simple, Effective Beauty Tips

As a makeup artist I am often asked what my top beauty tips are. Here are eight simple, yet highly effective beauty tricks! 1. Lips ready: take a clean, new toothbrush and gently scrub off dry, flaky skin. Make a homemade scrub of olive oil and sugar in the raw to exfoliate the sensitive lip skin. Then apply moisturizer that contains lanolin to soften and hydrate lips. 2. Get glowing skin: Take your favorite foundation and mix with a shimmery powder bronzer. With the end of one of your makeup brushes gently scrape out some bronzer into the palm of your hand then mix w/ a nickel size amount of foundation and apply all over face. This makes for instant, glowing beautiful skin. 3.

Giulietta Fall 2015 New York Fashion Week

It's the season for fashion again in New York. The Fall 2015 New York Fashion Week shows just ended and it is always a whirl wind. The past few season's I have been invited to attend the Giulietta show. Designed by Italian born Sofia Sizzi, it is always infused with her passion for 1960's cinema. Before the show even starts I love admiring all the Italian fashion girls at the show. Their particular style is an eclectic mix of designer brands. As the lights went down and the show began the dark glamour inspired by Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Conformist" walk out. There were sharp geometric prints, chevron patterns and touches of crystal sparkle. As always I was drawn to the glimmering embroi

What's All This Craze With Essential Oils?

So sometime ago, I was introduced to these tiny little aromatic bottles, of what is known as essential oils. Among those were lavender, peppermint, lemon, frankincense and many others. I'm sure most of us have heard of those at some point in our lives, but probably never realized the amazing benefits and different uses of these essential oils. And I'm not only talking about the sweet aroma of lavender or the refreshing and uplifting scent of peppermint,...but im talking about the medicinal and therapeutic benefits of these natural wonders. It's really no wonder at all...Essential oils enhance our health, wellness and happiness immeasurably, and can greatly improve the quality of our lives.

Boots In Season

We are certainly still in boot season, hear on the East Coast. As the stores bring out the Spring we are still in need of layers. Lucky for us this season designers certainly brought out the best. The selection of over the knee suede styles are impeccibly gorgrous. I find myself actually wanting to buy more. I found 2 pairs I have been interchanging daily. A flat pair of black boots by Zara(similar) and a unbelieveable gray heeled pair from Stuart Weitzman. Each stunning in thier own right. Kisses #fashion #dawn

Turmeric Cramp Cure

For most women we have come to accept we will have cramps each month. They can be inconvenient and too painful to want to even leave the house. I never wanted to be on medication like "the pill" or have to take pain killers. Over the past few years I spent time trying to find solutions to the pain naturally.Vitamins, breathing exercises, changing what I eat but nothing really made the pain stop. I heard about turmeric helping with inflammation so I tried juicing it with my morning juice. It helped slightly but I needed something more concentrated. I found Gaia's Turmeric Supreme extra strength and gave it a try. Happy actually thrilled to say it worked. Finally a natural cure to the dreaded

Natural Deodorant That Works

Okay so after hearing so much about aluminum and deodorant it's left a lot of people wondering what do I use. I obviously wanted to still smell good and not sweat. Excited about a year ago I found a really great solution by Lavanila. It is definitely my favorite one to use and gets the job done. Although for deodorant it is pricy almost $15 but well worth it. It actually lasts me a really really long time. I've used it in the summer months and winter months and always smell fresh and clean. Hopefully this will give you the relief of wearing healthy aluminum free deodorant and still smelling fresh. Kisses #beauty #dawn
