I love tea, especially when there is a chill in the air, but even more so for the benefits it has to offer my body and general health. Choose the right tea for your needs and you can be on your way to feeling more energetic or relaxed, fight off the common cold whilst defending your skin against wrinkles. It is your choice.
Here are my tops teas and their body benefits:
Black Tea is a great option if you need an energy boost. The antioxidants such as flavonoids present in black tea prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol (ya know, the bad one); eliminate free radicals that can cause diseases in the body such as Alzheimer’s and heart disease.
Green Tea (my personal fave) has the ability to completely block wrinkle formation and even reverse sun damage. The antioxidants in green tea are said to have more powerful effects than vitamins C and E. I love green tea to detoxify after a long weekend or to start my day and speed up my metabolism.
White Tea is one of the least processed teas proving that it has the most potent anticancer properties compared to its counterparts. If that doesn’t make you want to drink white tea try it for its amazing ability to ward off new fat cells from forming while fighting signs of aging (like those things called wrinkles!)
Ginger Tea is great for headaches and your digestive system. The anti-inflammatory agents in ginger tea help reduce swelling and inflammation in the body.
Valerian Root Tea is perfect if your body needs some stress relief, either caused by actual stress, the nuisance of insomnia or aggravating abdominal cramps (ladies, ya hear?!) Valerian tea has been around for like, a million years! It has a very strong calming, sedative effect that is safer than a pill.
