Besides being a perfect way to warm up as the days get cooler, Golden Milk had incredible health benefits. It is a homemade turmeric tea, from Indian culture. Touted as the top remedy for boosting immunity, and warding off illness.
The key ingredients are, turmeric, cinnamon, coconut oil, coconut/almond milk, peppercorn and honey. Curcumin is part of turmeric which is a strong antioxidant, that fight cell damage. It is an Ayurvedic method of healing the body with the use of herbal compounds. Some other ways it is extremely beneficial is by clarifying the skin, blood purifier, remedy for digestive problems, relief from cough, it is a liver tonic, and great for autoimmune disease.

The recipe ( makes 2 servings)
1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk, preferably coconut milk beverage or almond milk
1 cinnamon stick
1 piece turmeric, unpeeled, thinly sliced, or 1/2 teaspoon dried turmeric
1 piece ginger, unpeeled, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
Ground cinnamon (for serving)
1 Cup of Water
Whisk coconut milk, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, honey, coconut oil, peppercorns and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. Strain through fine mesh and serve in mugs with a dash of cinnamon. Lasts in the fridge for up to 5 days.
