Rome, Part 3: Ending Our Italy Summer in the Eternal City

For our Italy summer, Rome was the last stop and I honestly can't imagine ending it anywhere else. There's something about this city that draws me back every single time.
We stayed at the Fendi Private Suites my first choice, and it did not disappoint. The location is everything: completely central, right by Via del Corso, which meant we never needed a car once. In Rome, that's the ultimate luxury the whole city on foot.
Let's talk about Fornos one of our favorite places to stop while walking around during the day. Imagine a very thin-crusted pizza topped with potato. Simple, perfect, unforgettable. We loved it so much we went twice including grabbing it on our way to the airport.
One night we had dinner at Armando al Pantheon, just steps from the Pantheon. Classic Roman cooking, done beautifully. Delicious from start to finish.
Rome is where I do my shopping I love ending the trip here for exactly that reason. Via del Corso was our runway: shop after shop, with plenty of new discoveries mixed in with the classics. We wandered, we browsed, we found things we didn't know we needed.
Near the Trevi Fountain we've visited it a few times before, but we never tire of walking past it we stumbled on a wonderful art store selling real, original pieces dating back to the 1500s. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
Every trip has one: the restaurant we didn't make it to. This time it was Gigi a new spot whose wine menu looked absolutely unbelievable. It's already at the top of the list for next time.
Can we talk about the Rome airport? Fiumicino might be the best airport in the world for tax-free shopping with unique pieces you won't find anywhere else. You still feel like you're on the trip, right up until you board.
